In terms of nutritional categorization:
- High-fiber foods (those containing more than 3g of fiber per serving) are highlighted in purple. Additional information is accessible via the food name including serving sizes, with corresponding icons indicating plant status (green leaf), ultra-processed nature (red warning triangle), or probiotic content (gold microbe).
- Plants with less than 3g of fiber per serving that fit within the recommended 30 types of plants per week for optimal gut health are designated in green typography. The most prebiotic varieties are shown in a darker shade of green.
- Fermented foods containing beneficial live microbes categorized as probiotics are designated in gold when they contain less than 3g of fiber per serving.
- Ultra-processed foods (those containing ingredients typically not found in home cooking) are indicated in red when they fall below the 3g fiber threshold. These foods are often linked to chronic health issues due to their high-calorie and low-nutrient profiles.
- Foods that contain less than 3g of fiber but do not fall into any of the above categories are presented in black type; they can be included in a balanced diet when consumed moderately.
